Shipping & Delivery Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Thank you for shopping at Papermind! Here’s everything you need to know about how we get your items to your doorstep.
International orders may incur import duties, VAT, or local taxes assessed by your country's government. Please check your local customs laws before making a purchase, as all import fees are the responsibility of the recipient.
1. Processing Times
All orders are processed within 2-4 business days.
- Orders are shipped from Japan.
- Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or holidays.
- We work hard to help you get your order as fast as possible. So as soon as the payment is accepted and order is confirmed, it is immediately in the process "to be shipped". Therefore, orders cannot be cancelled once placed. Thank you for your understanding!
- If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. We will notify you via email if there is a significant delay.
2. Shipping Rates & Delivery Estimates
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. For international shipping, the carrier, Japan Post, is used. We offer Japan Post International Air Packet (up to 2kg) and EMS.
- Most of our products are small items like stickers and washi tapes. The average shipping cost for International Air Packet per order is about US$10.00.
- Please note that the shipping cost depends on the total weight of your order.
Delivery delays can occasionally occur due to carrier issues, weather, or holidays. We do not accept refunds due to delivery delay.
3. International Shipping, Customs, and Duties
We do ship internationally.
- Please note that we are not responsible for any customs, duties and taxes applied to your order by your local government. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer (tariffs, taxes, etc.).
- If a customer refuses to pay these fees or fails to claim their package, causing the order to be returned to us, the customer will not be eligible for a refund of shipping costs. Furthermore, any return shipping fees or abandoned package charges billed to Papermind Stationery will be deducted from your merchandise refund.
4. Order Tracking & Confirmation
You will receive a Shipment Confirmation email containing your tracking number(s) once your order has shipped. Please allow some time for the tracking details to be updated in the shipping carrier's system.
*We are not responsible for shipment lost due to incomplete or incorrect shipping address provided.
Notice to customers from United States
Shipping to the United States
We ship orders to the United States directly from Japan. For eligible shipments, import duties and applicable customs charges are calculated and handled through our international shipping solution, so you can enjoy a more convenient delivery experience without unexpected customs payments upon delivery.
Import Duties & Customs
Applicable import duties and customs charges are calculated based on the contents and value of your order and the customs regulations in effect at the time of import. When duties are applicable, they are collected in advance as part of the shipping or checkout process and handled through our shipping service. In general, import duties has already been collected and paid by Papermind.
U.S. State Sales Tax
Sales tax requirements vary by state. Papermind Shop is a Japan-based business, and U.S. state sales tax is collected only when required under applicable state tax laws.
If sales tax is not charged at checkout, this does not mean that the shipment will be subject to a sales tax payment upon delivery. U.S. Customs and postal carriers do not generally collect state sales tax at the time of delivery. However, depending on your state of residence, you may have an obligation to report and pay use tax directly to your state.
Please Note: Import duties, customs charges, and state sales or use taxes are separate types of taxes and charges. The treatment of these charges depends on applicable laws and regulations, which may change from time to time. We recommend reviewing the tax regulations applicable to your state if you have questions about your personal tax obligations.
